Hayden Panetierre is back!

The Golden Globe nominee, 32, was pictured on Saturday filming the upcoming sixth episode of the Scream franchise after announcing his return in May, following his character Kirby Reed’s near-death scene in 2011 Cry 4.

Her co-star Jasmin Savoy Brown, who joined the franchise as Mindy Meeks-Martin in this year’s fifth installment, shared some candid snaps on BeReal of the two of them sitting in a hair and makeup trailer .

“Will Mindy and Kirby be friends?? Hayden thinks so, I think not,” Brown, 28, wrote, taking over the film’s social media account.

Panetierre previously praised PEOPLE for his return to the franchise, which will mark his first film in eight years. “I’m so happy this is my first project because I have such fond memories of making Cry 4“, she said last month.

“I love the character and I love her sass, and I feel like I’m coming back and knowing her,” Panetierre added of Kirby’s role. “So it’s a little less daunting. I’m excited. I’m really excited.”

Saturday’s post comes after Neve Campbell announced her “very difficult decision” not to return for the upcoming sixth episode in the Scream franchise, having starred in the first five films.

“Unfortunately, I will not be doing the next Scream film. As a woman, I’ve had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my worth, especially when it comes to Scream“, she said in a statement. “I felt the offer presented to me did not match the value I brought to the franchise.”

After starring in Wes Craven’s first teen slasher in 1996, she returned for the final time for the fifth episode, which premiered earlier this year. Of Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, it was the first film in the franchise to not have Craven attached, following his death from a brain tumor in August 2015.

“I haven’t read it yet, I just received it…” she said at the time. “I’m excited to read it, and I know they’re going to start filming…I think, in June, in Canada.”

“I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything. Let me tell you the killer! Cox, 58, joked.
