Hodge returns to the residential loan market

The bank says that after experiencing “record volumes of activity”, it had “called for shutting down new applications for a period of two weeks to restore its service levels”.

But now says that from today, July 4, “new applications for all products are open again, with 48-hour return service level agreements with other service guarantees to partners intermediates also available”.

Emma Graham, Business Development Manager at Hodge Mortgage, says, “We pride ourselves on both our service and the fact that our underwriters assess applications on a case-by-case basis.

“We remain fully committed to maintaining a personal approach, but will continue to invest in technology to provide additional levels of automation while ensuring we are able to deliver the services our brokers have come to expect.”

The bank, which runs a savings service, says products available through its commercial lending division are unaffected, with this announcement only relating to personal mortgages.

Last month, Hodge has appointed Stuart Benge as Senior Business Development Manager for Commercial Lending.

Benge joins Hodge with over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, having previously worked with N&P Commercial and Assetz Capital, among others.

In his new role, he will be responsible for expanding Hodge’s presence in the investment property industry nationwide.
